Future Workforce Trends

Interesting report from Unum on the future of the UK workforce. None of the statistics are surprising as it aligns with our survey results, e.g. significant number of workers value work flexibility and want to engineer own portfolio of careers, large proportion of workers believe diversity and company ethos is key, many workers want to continue learning well into their careers etc.

But what is interesting is how they have categorised future workers into 4 categories in an attempt to understand what employees of the (near) future want; The Tech-enhanced worker, The Self-Fulfilled worker, The Obligated worker and The Socially Committed worker.

I think i am a bit of each category with a lean towards the 'Obligated worker'. Which categor(ies) do you identify with?

Worth looking at the video in this article. Yes it shows the facts but equally it only confirms what we already know. It would in my view been equally or more powerful to turn the tables and let the men feel what it means to be held back in the climb up ....... maybe then the change would be quicker
